Eligibility

General applicants and SOUZOU BIJUTSUKAI members.
Irrespective of professional, amateur and nationality

* Up to two original and unpublished works of art of your own creation may be submitted

Works Specifications

Oil Paintings: M30〜F150.
Japanese
 Paintings
: M50〜360 cm. 
Dyed and woven textiles
: M30〜F50.
Sculpture
: Smaller than 200 cm(height) x 120 cm (width) x 120 cm (depth) lighter than 270 kg
Pottery
No limitation

* Attach a 「WORK TAG」 on the upper right corner of the back side for 2D works, and on an appropriate place for 3D works

D work is to be placed in a temporary frame. Glass cover is not to be used. A cover must be set so as to be removed easy for picture taking

Admission Fee

\7,000 per person with a limit of two pieces of works
(No fee for Souzou Bijutsukai members
)

* Send the fee to the following Post-Office Transfer Account not later than May 20,2008 specifying applicant department

Insurance

We do not accept any responsibility for unexpected damage or lost of works, though we will handle them carefully in the museum We advise you to have your works insured as needed

Entry Submission

Fri, May 23 and Sat, May 24, 2008 from 900 am400 pm.
Place:「SOUZOUTEN」 reception desk at B3 in the Museum.

 Works must be received by the following shipping vender by May 20 when you ask them for entry submission

Shipping Out

Sun, June 1, 2008 from 9:00 am〜4:00 pm for the unaccepted works.
Wed, June 11, 2008 from 9:00 am〜4:00 pm
for the accepted works.
Place: 「SOUZOUTEN」 reception desk at B3 in the Museum. (Upon presentation of the 「WORK RECEIPT」.)

* Works are not to be carried out on June 10 , the last day of the exhibition.
* Works not carried out in the specified time above will be moved to and kept at a NICHIBI storage at the applicant's expense

Judgment

Sun, May 25 and Mon, May 26, 2008
Judgment will be carried out in fair and democratic manner by judges who have been selected according to our society's rules

Announcements

* Artist's names of the accepted works in the general category will be posted on the bulletin board located near the museum shipping yard on Tue, May 27, 2008
* All result of the judgement will be sent by mail on Tue, May 27, 2008

* Mail notification will be sent to only the award winners, those who receive promotion and those who not accepted for the souzou members.
The result is also up on the HP (http://www.souzouten.org/) at 9:00 am on May 27, 2008

Catalogues

A catalogue containing photographs of all accepted works is issued and one copy is sent to all accepted artist in general category.
* It costs \3,000 including shipping fee. (A postal transfer form is sent with it.)

Awards

* The prize for new applicants:
「Outstanding New Applicant」 \100,000 is awarded to a person with automatic colleague status

* Prizes of 「Souzou Bijutsukai」,「Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology」, 「Tokyo Governor」,「Sompo-Japan Fine Art Foundation」,「Shimoda」, 「Members」, 「Associate members」, 「Colleagues」,
「New Applicant」,「Encouragement」 and Sponsors

Promotion

Promotion to an upper rank, 「Member」, 「Associate Member」 or 「Colleague」 upon judgment

Commendation Ceremony

Fri, June 6, 2008 from 2:30 pm at the museum auditoriumWinners and promoted person are expected to attend it

Social Gathering

Fri, June 6, 2008 from 5:00 pm at the restaurant in the Museum
* Fee: \5,000 per person

We reserve the rihgt to photograph accepted works for publicity purposes such as catalogues, pamphlets, magazines , Internet Homepages and so on

Personal Data

We reserve the right to display artist data such as name and address (up to town name) on public relation materials such as newspapers, magazines, internet Homepages and so on
